Ekegusii Language

Ekegusii (Spoken by Abagusii / Kisii people of Western Kenya) is spelt phonetically and is used extensively at home, market places, at church and even at rural schools, especially in primary school level for communication and teaching purposes. It is classified as a central Bantu language and labeled E.42 by MalcolmGuthrie (Guthrie 1971). The Kisii language has a concordial system of its sentence constituents in regard to verb, noun class and number agreement. The Kisii people are well known for their Soapstone carvings which they also export and for the large banana plantations (Sweet bananas at Suneka).
